dance, learn, create, taste, experience.
WE know how to have a good time. Come experience our community in ways YOU'VE never seen - from massive outdoor concerts to creative morning lectures to culinary gatherings - all of which will show you a side of bellingham far beyond your expectations.
Downtown Sounds started as a small gathering hosted in an alley, turning the underutilized space into something extraordinary. And extraordinary it became. With each year the event grew, now taking up an entire city block of Bay Street. Downtown Sounds draws bands from across the country and folks from Whatcom County and beyond to share in their love of music. After over a decade of this beloved urban music festival, it is firmly cemented as Downtown Bellingham's hottest summer attraction.
Commercial Street Night Market
On pleasant nights throughout the summer, we close down a block of Commercial Street and bring it to life. You can expect large-scale art installations, performance artists, live music, delicious food and the best artisan vendors. Come out to enjoy all this and more — right in the heart of downtown.
Our creative lecture series, Morning Jam, features a different speaker each month. These folks, at the top of their field, share about their profession and what inspires and drives them. These events take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 AM and are open to the public. We bring the toast, jam, coffee and inspiring lecturers — you bring a hungry mind (and stomach)!
Downtown shops host pop-up tasting rooms featuring a variety of regional wines. Attendees receive tasting tickets and roam from shop to shop drinking wine and enjoying special deals.
On the first Friday of every month, downtown's Art Walk features galleries, studios, museums, shops, and restaurants showcasing the creative talent found in Bellingham's growing art scene. We invite you to stroll through the streets of downtown to enjoy art, food, and community!
Join us for the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat on October 31. Hundreds of families come downtown
for a fun and safe alternative to neighborhood trick-or-treating. This is a great chance to introduce your business to families, and create a festive atmosphere in our downtown community.
