Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro to Host a Vibrant Latin Music Festival on June 13th and 14th

Join Boundary Brewery & Bistro for a two day festival of Latin Music, June 13-14. The beer garden in downtown Bellingham will host music that celebrates the beauty and diversity of Latin Music, with artists sharing sounds inspired from Argentina to Barcelona. 

On Friday, June 13th, Corazones de Cedro, will be the free musical entertainment at the Friday Fish Fry in Boundary Bay’s beer garden at 5pm. The group plays Son Jarocho, the Caribbean musical culture of Veracruz, Mexico, featuring instrumentation of requinto, leona, jarana and cajon. 

The music concludes Friday night with Marina Albero’s, “Fiesta". Albero is an award winning performer, pianist, composer, and educator living in Seattle, who captivates audiences with her style of Latin Jazz influenced by her Barcelona roots and her study of flamenco and classical jazz. There will be a $10 cover, music starts at 8pm. 

The music and celebration continues on Saturday, June 14th, with a ticketed event from 3pm-10pm. Four bands will perform on the beer garden stage, including a reprise from Corazones de Cedro. A $35 ticket includes access to the full day of music and a meal from Paellaworks. 

Bellingham’s own The Tango Cowboys will open Saturday and play tangos from Argentina, including soaring melodies from the Golden Age of Tango, specializing in the songs of the great Tango King, Carlos Gardel. 

Cuarto Sueño, an acoustic jazz quartet, is set to captivate audiences with high energy flamenco guitar, modern Latin jazz, and creative arrangements of familiar classics.

The night ends with Bilongo, featuring the vocals of Sabrina Gomez, a seven piece Latin jazz band based in Bellingham. Their music is inspired by artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Poncho Sanchez and the Buena Vista Social Club.

3:00- The Tango Cowboys (Tango) 

4:30- Corazones de Cedro (Son Jarocho)

6:30- Cuarto Sueño (Flamenco Jazz)

8:30- Bilongo with Sabrina Gomez (Latin Jazz) 

Paellaworks will be in the garden on Saturday preparing and serving pan cooked paella. Paellaworks offers locally sourced and seasonal ingredient based menus celebrating the vitality and diversity of foodways in our amazing Pacific Northwest region.
