The award-winning choir brings their all-new concert, PEACE, to Bellingham as part of their 60-City North American Tour.
The multi-Grammy and Emmy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir returns to North America with its concert PEACE. This joyful program features South African freedom songs, traditional spirituals, and some classics like “Man in the Mirror” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The inspirational concert will also feature the spirited music of Aretha Franklin, Harry Belafonte, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen and more. Mount Baker Theatre is thrilled to present the Soweto Gospel Choir on Wednesday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m. on MBT’s Historic Main Stage.

The vibrant pulse of Whatcom County’s art scene comes alive this fall as the Whatcom Artist Studio Tour returns for its 31st year, inviting art lovers, collectors, and curious minds to explore the studios of over 40 local artists. This free, self-guided tour takes place over two weekends: October 4–5 and October 11–12, 2025 10 am to 5pm daily, offering a rare opportunity to step inside the creative spaces where inspiration becomes art.

Students flood downtown Bellingham for WWU First Night Out
A flood of Western Washington University students descended on downtown on Wednesday in an annual tradition, doubling as an announcement to the rest of Bellingham: The kids are back in town.

Mount Baker Theatre Gears Up for 100th Season with the Restoration of the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ
On Monday, August 18 a team of JL Weiler organ restoration experts, led by Service and Restoration Technician Toby Washburn, worked hand in hand with Mount Baker Theatre staff to start the process of removing and dismantling the historic 1927 Wurlitzer Pipe Organ (Opus 1558). Washburn and the JL Weiler team will restore the mighty Wurlitzer to its historic splendor in time for MBT’s 100th Season. During the removal and restoration process, MBT Board, staff, and some organ enthusiasts had the opportunity to hear Washburn’s firsthand insights into the complex removal process, followed by reflections and fascinating historical context from some of MBT’s longest-standing employees and volunteers.
